| Don't Go to this Hotel |
| I took my pregnant wife to this resort as it was allegedly 5 stars, as our last child-free holiday. Frankly I should have saved the money. Although the general staff were friendly enough, the food was diabolical in the a la carte restaurants and the same every evening in the buffet area. We've had much better food at 3 star hotels in Kenya. We spent alot of money getting taxis out to other places to eat and to escape the noise. This was the worst part.
We arrived at 9pm on a Saturday to a full blown disco sound - we immediately asked to change rooms but were told the hotel was full. We were told that the noise was only a couple of nights a week - completely untrue. We were driven from our room 4 nights a week. As if that wasn't enough - they woke us at 8am with drilling one morning - and then at 2am! And despite our protests they wouldn't stop until I threatened to throw their tools in the sea! They are also carrying out renovations to their rooms by the pool which means alot of noise all day there too.
We went for 12 nights starting Nov 13th and expected a real eco-resort - you would be better going here if you want to stay onsite and get drunk every night.
Everybody is right - there are not enough buggies to get about and the bikes are usually lethal (no brakes etc).
BUT THE REAL NIGHTMARE was trying to get the management to take any notice of us - we complained bitterly about the noise and were not offered a room change at any point - we eventually agreed not to pay any of our room charges on leaving. When we left, they tried to charge us for everything - and when we refused they tried to offload us from the transfer bus and surrounded us with security guards. It was like being mugged and my wife was in tears most of the way to the airport........ As the title says, don't go here - although Mexico was lovely, Puerto Aventuras, Xel-Ha and chitchen itza all good outings. |

place rocks!
The Xpu-ha Palace Hotel Hotel is my favorite 8-9 hotel in Puerto Juarez, Q'roo. Be sure to check out other great hotels that are alphabetized by the letter "X" so you can see just how the
Xpu-ha Palace Hotel stacks up. This is a great property to stay at if your looking to be in the South Of Cancun of the
Cancun area.
